Hi! I’m Madison Varunok.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the world of food and wine. At ten years old, my idea of fun was developing a menu for an imaginary Manhattan restaurant called Chianti Café—complete with a wine list featuring Barolo and Grand Cru Burgundy. How I knew about those wines at the time remains a true mystery,

Over the last six+ years, I’ve turned this interest into a career. I have my WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Distinction, am a Certified Wine Specialist through the Society of Wine Educators & a French Wine Scholar through the Wine Scholars Guiid. I have worked at boutique wines shops in NYC & Nasvhille, and currently work for a French wine importer & wholesaler. 


I am passionate about democratizing wine, making it less intimidating & more accessible. What started as a fun Instagram project in 2020 (@vindecanted) has grown into a full-service wine education and events business. Now based in the beautiful Hudson Valley in Beacon, NY, I offer private wine dinners, classes, and curated tasting events—whether you want to explore the wines of Burgundy, build a thoughtful wine list, or just gather friends for a relaxed night of discovery.
