Hi! My name is Madison Varunok. For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for the world of food & wine. As a 10-year-old, I created a menu for an imaginary upscale Manhattan restaurant named the “Chianti Café” (I was obviously a really cool kid!) It contained a full wine list that included fine wines from Barolo to Grand Cru Burgundy. If you’re wondering how I knew about these wines, I am too. My best guess is a random book lying around our house, but it’s a true mystery.

While living in NYC, I began to transition my wine interest into a career. I earned my WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Distinction and became a Certified Wine Specialist through the Society of Wine Educators.  While these courses provided a great educational foundation, it was my work at a boutique wine store in the Upper West Side that taught me how to actually talk to people about wine. I am passionate about democratizing wine, making it less intimidating & more accessible. In an effort to expand this platform, I founded @vindecanted, a wine education Instagram account.

From its humble Instagram origins, Vin Decanted has transformed into a full-service wine education & event brand. Whether you’re looking for a private French wine pairing dinner, wine menu consultation or classes on key wine grapes, I’m your girl. In June 2021, I moved from NYC back south to Nashville, TN. I’m excited to return to my southern roots & bring my services to Music City!
